Working at Live! Technologies is more than a job. Long hours, hard work, great people and a lot of fun. From our beginning, we have always enjoyed what we do and the company we keep. Internally, we have an annual canoe trip, Halloween celebration and an annual Chili Cook-Off competition. We like to share our knowledge and good times with our friends and clients.
H.O. W. Workshop
In February Live! hosts the H.O.W. Workshop, an evening of training in audio, video and lighting. Our staff of Real Live! Pros shares their knowledge (and stories) and insights on video production, audio mixing and lighting as it applies to House of Worship production. Houses of Worship utilize all types of production, from a full band experience to theatrical, dance, choral and spoken word. Streaming is becoming a standard for most H.O.W. facilities. The evening starts with a meal and product demonstrations before going into two hours of classes. This is a paid event to help offset expenses.
Golf Outing benefitting the Becca Mead Scholarship Fund is our Summer event.
For over twenty years, Live! Technologies team members have taken a day off to relax and play golf. After the passing of Becca Mead and the establishment of a scholarship fund in her name at Ohio University, it was decided to expand the event to honor her life and support the scholarship. The event has grown to include friends, clients and vendors. The endowment is over $100,000. These days we also remember the life of Jim (Bones) Meyers, who was an outstanding Live! team member for over 20 years.
Live!Con is a day of sharing knowledge and networking. Each year Live! Technologies teams up with the manufacturers and vendors to let folks see new gear, learn what's new and get answers directly from factory personnel. We also bring in speakers that are tangential to our industry such as Event Safety, the America Disabilities Act, lawyers and contractors. There are classes on event production, audio, video, photography and lighting. There is an indoor stage and an the outdoor stage. The warehouse is turned into a trade show floor, the offices become classrooms and there's a Live!Con Lounge. A tent is erected on the dock area to provide an area for the free lunch and reception after the trade show closes, along with the stage van to demo gear. The event starts at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 4:00 p.m., with a reception to follow. This event has a great turnout every year.
